World Festival of Puppet Theatres 2017
The 19th World Festival of Puppet Theatres / Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes takes place in Charleville-Mézières, France on September 16-24 2017. Talents from France and around the world will meet in a rich programme of over 80 events, performances, workshops, exhibitions and screenings. A crisper program involving a dozen companies will focus on younger audiences; 5 or 6 companies will focus on Finnish creations; the international selection will focus on Indonesia, India, Tunisia, Brazil, Morocco, Switzerland, Catalonia; and some companies' pathway will be at the heart of many shows in the 2017 edition… Download programme The World Festival of Puppet Theatres includes:- the world’s largest gathering of puppeteers every other year in Charleville-Mézières
- the support of artistic creation through the co-production of shows, the hosting of artists in residence, as well as the promotion and distribution of shows
- continuous work all year round in order to promote puppetry and develop audiences in schools, in organizations and within the general public
- the organization of “Puppetry Weekend D-365” one year before the festival.
