Yangon historic city centre placed on World Monuments Fund Watch List
The World Monuments Fund has announced that Yangon's "Historic City Center" (downtown Yangon) will be added to their 2014 "Watch List". This is a major step towards international recognition of downtown Yangon as an international as well as Myanmar heritage area.
Every two years since 1996, the World Monuments Watch is a call to action for cultural heritage around the globe that is at risk from the forces of nature and the impact of social, political, and economic change.
