Hungary | Veszprém 2023 Street Art

The House of Arts Veszprém calls for applications of street art or public art projects in public spaces in the city of Veszprém, Hungary. 

Within the framework of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme, the aim of the call is to encourage artists to explore the historical heritage of Veszprém and the Bakony-Balaton region, and to create works that explore the hidden aspects of the place and its exploration.

Spaces in the city

The aim is to create and present 5 large-scale and 3 small-scale works of art as well as art on a combined surface (with the collaboration Veszprém Bus Public Transport Company). 

There are a number of spaces available: 

• Veszprém Arena underpass: a number of large and smaller wall spaces 
• Maxon Tunnel: a cycle underpass 
• Firewall of the House of Arts Veszprém office building 
• V- Busz Veszprém Public Transport Company

The works will be created or installed on site between 1 May and 30 September 2023. 

Budget:

Artists can apply for the following amounts per work:

• Large surfaces gross 6,000,000 HUF
• Small surfaces gross 500,000 HUF
• Combined surfaces gross 5,000,000 HUF

These amounts include the cost of materials and additional costs.
