Space Studio Artist's Grant 2021 | open to visual artists in India

A research and production grant is offered to a visual artist u.40 based in India by SPACE STUDIO - an independent, not-for-profit organisation based in Vadodara at the Alembic Museum Square.

Space Studio is dedicated to supporting artists and developing creative practices through its studio spaces and programmes. To promote the development of ideas and experimentation in the field of visual art, Space Studio aims to provide artists with unique platforms and opportunities that help in cultivating experiments and ideas to grow and take on a life of their own. The Space Studio Artist's Grant will support the research and/or production for a selected artist’s project.

Eligibility:
• Research and production grant for a visual artist – ongoing research / new project
• Visual arts include: painting, sculpture, photography, film and related media
• 4-5 years’ experience of working with a form of visual arts
• Applications open to artists based in India
• Age limit: under the age of 40 years at the time of applying

Structure of Application process:
• Application Deadline - 15th November
• Grantee will be announced late December 2020
• Research Grant period begins January 2021

Grant details:
• Selected artist receives a grant of INR 2 lakhs from Space Studio to use towards the project or research outlined by them in their application
• Monthly curatorial mentorship and review sessions with Veeranganakumari Solanki
• Space Studio will share their relevant resources and network with the artist, to help them develop their project
• November, 2021 - presentation at Space Studio about the grant related project and research
• The nature of the presentation will be finalised with the selected artist (Suggested outcome: Presentation/ Photo essay/ PDF documentation/ report and talk for Space Studio Artists’ Grant archive)
• Space Studio will arrange for the artist’s travel (within India) to Vadodara and 2 days of accommodation for the final presentation in November 2021
