Almaty Museum Association

Almaty Museums Association was created to optimise the management of museums and improve the quality of the social and cultural services in Almaty. Founded in 2015, the Association consists of 5 museums and is under the Department of Culture of Almaty. The member museums are: Mukanov and Musrepov Memorial Museum of Literature; Museum of Kazakh Folk Musical Instruments; Museum of History of Almaty; Kunayev Memorial Museum; Nurgisa Tlendiyev Memorial Museum.

The project to unite Almaty museums aims to provide a quality selection of cultural, educational and leisure services, including package offers from museums, to the residents of and visitors to Almaty, as well as to establish the basis for the creation of “the museum block” and the historic and cultural centre of the city. In addition, it is expected that the project will increase the social role of the museums and their involvement in the lives of local communities.
