Animated Dreams

"Animated Dreams" is a tiny, but strongly viable part of Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. Animated shorts were first screened in 1999 as preludes to the main features of the Black Nights Film Festival programme. So was born the first animation festival in Estonia.

In 2005 "Animated Dreams" became the founding member of ANOBA network - a regional organisation of co-operation between festivals of animated films from Baltic and Nordic countries.

In the centre of "Animated Dreams" is the international competition programme of animated shorts. Around 150 animated films from almost 30 countries are being shown each year at "Animated Dreams"!

Animation festival films are meant for young people and grown-ups (children films have been screened in another section of Black Nights Film Festival). "Animated Dreams" is for everybody, who is interested in alternative film experiences, stories with intriguing visual images and innovative new media technology.
