Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi

Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi, the largest anti-communal, progressive and voluntary organisation of Bangladesh, plays a significant role in the democratic and cultural movements of Bangladesh. The organisation works to create a favourable environment for the true development of national culture in the spirit of liberation in Bangladesh.

Udichi is also trying to revive the age-old practices of Bangladesh, including vanishing cultural treasures (such as kobigaan, jatra, baul, jari-sari, etc.); festivals that were existing from time immemorial (such as boat-racing, boishakhi mela, nobanno (rice-eating festival), Paush-songkrantifestival, winter-cakes (pitha utsob), fish-catching/fishing festival, other festivals of diverse ethnicity, etc.) and native musical instruments (such as flute, sanai, tambourine, ektara, drum, tom-tom, khol, cymbals, dotara, and more). The organisation also takes the initiative to stage drama, dance and other cultural programmes in the different regions of Bangladesh.
