Beppu Project

BEPPU PROJECT is a non-profit art organisation based in Beppu, a city in Oita Prefecture Japan, known as one of the world's greatest hot spring area.

Founded in 2005, BEPPU PROJECT has implemented various activities such as the introduction and promotion of art, development of human resources, transmission of local information nationwide, and the facilitation of infrastructure. The accumulation of these experiences came to fruition in Beppu Contemporary Art Festival 2009 "Mixed Bathing World". They also have artists in residence.

Art is a catalyst to make us "aware" of different perspectives, evoking creativity by prompting us to see and think freely. It opens new possibilities to change familiar views into a rich world full of diversity. BEPPU PROJECT thinks that creativity is the very resource for the future.
