"Bratislava in Movement" Association

Bratislava in Movement Association is a non-governmental organisation working in the field of professional development of contemporary dance in Slovakia. The main activity of BMA is the international festival of contemporary dance called "Bratislava in Movement". This festival has been recognised in the greater European community and has developed into an event with several different activities.

"Bratislava in Movement" also commissions and produces dance and multimedia projects, as well as organises practical workshops and theoretical conferences. An important aspect of its effort is to educate the general public, enlist the support and participation of existing cultural institutions and engage the media. Besides the festival, the association is active in the field of education by organising workshops with foreign teachers for professional dancers. It has developed the basis of an information center and it has started an active policy towards development of dance criticism in Slovakia.
