Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty) is one of the oldest and largest museums not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the Central Asian region. The creation of museum collections was initiated in 1830s in Orenburg (Russia). The present collection includes about 300 000 objects. The majority of the CSM RK consist of collection on  natural history of Kazakhstan; anthropological, archaeological and ethnographic collections; photodocumentary materials; collection of rare books and manuscripts; numismatic collection; collection of porcelain and ceramics; art collection.
