Centre Rog

The Rog Centre, a public institute established by the City of Ljubljana in May 2021, will be a universally accessible creative hub with programmes seeking to transcend the split between high and popular culture. It will offer almost 9,000 m2 of creative space along with related programmes, and a new 8,000 m2 park available for citizens’ daily use and public events.

The Rog factory, which produced the cult-like Rog bicycles, is today the most important piece of 20th century industrial heritage in Ljubljana. Thanks to both the way it is being restored and the programme of the Rog Centre, its original function is to be retained yet revamped for the 21st century: it will serve as a public space for the production of cultural and creative industries, with a stress on fabrication, applied arts and design. Part of this programme is Roglab, a multidisciplinary public hub that supports manufacturers and creators in the development of their ideas through cutting-edge technological know-how and infrastructure.
