Chung-Ang University, established in 1918, has overcome the nation's adversities and has taken on a leadership role cultivate the intellectuals of Korea with the educational ideal of "Die in honor, Live for Truth". Film Studies is offered for both graduates and undergraduates. The Chung-Ang University Graduate School obtained authorization for establishment in February 1953, with masters degree courses in 8 departments that includes the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film. In the College of Arts, t he department aims to take root as a future-oriented educational institution by actively subdividing and specializing the curriculum so as to lead the film industry in the nation. As the best department of film studies in the country, the department endeavors to acquire and cultivate projecting techniques and aims to rear film experts who can contribute to the development of our cinematic culture. Both theory and practical subjects are emphasized.
