Circle

A civic association KRUH (Circle) was founded in 2001 by a group of architecture students at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. The focus of their activities lies in an ongoing cycle of lectures on architecture held by leading Czech and foreign architects and architecture critics. In addition to that, they organise excursions to contemporary architectural realisations and film festivals.

Since 2001, they have provided more than 290 lectures and many excursions abroad, and since 2011 the nationwide festival Day of Architecture, 11 film festivals on architecture, an exhibition and published 5 collective volumes with texts on architecture. All their activities gained both a favourable public response (200–800 visitors per lecture) and from the professional press – they were awarded an Architect magazine prize in 2003.
