Citizens Archive Pakistan

The Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP), a non-profit organisation founded in 2007, is dedicated to cultural and historic preservation.

CAP is  operating in Karachi and Lahore, with a broad outreach across Pakistan. Seeking to educate the community, CAP fosters an awareness of Pakistan's history and instills pride in its citizens about their heritage. CAP has focused its attention on the tradition of oral storytelling in Pakistan, emphasising the importance of such narratives in a dialogue on national identity.

CAP is passionate about sharing Pakistan's stories through educational outreach and various exhibitions and festivals that are attended by thousands of visitors. In 2018, CAP collaborated with the Parks and Horticultural Authority (PHA) and the Government of Punjab to inaugurate the National History Museum (NHM) on the grounds of Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore. The NHM, which is curated and managed by CAP, is the first digital museum of its kind in the country.
