The Croatian Association of Visual Artists

Hrvatsko društvo likovnih umjetnika / The Croatian Association of Visual Artists (HDLU) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit union of visual artists, working in all forms of expression and disciplines.

The main goals of HDLU are to support and encourage contemporary visual expression, to improve and protect the freedom of visual expression, to organise exhibitions, and to participate in the making of laws and rules regulating visual arts production and the social rights of the artists.

HDLU annually organises or collaborates to produce approximately 30 exhibitions in four diversely profiled galleries. The exhibition program covers all segments of art presentation and production, ranging from big national and international manifestations to projects concerning new media pursuing experimentation. The exhibitions are accompanied by lecture programs, workshops, and presentations. Exhibition spaces are open and often used for the presentation of a variety of artistic expressions, ranging from dance to music and theater.
