The Croatian State Archives

Hrvatski državni arhiv – The Croatian State Archives (CSA) in Zagreb is the central archival institution in Croatia whose activities are focused on the preservation and availability of archival heritage under Archives protection.

They perform archival services related to archival and current records created by state bodies, state and public institutions and enterprises, by corporate bodies, and by families and individuals whose activity covers the whole or a greater part of Croatia, or is of national interest.

CSA holds archival records, from the 10th century till today, which includes over 2 million photos and domestic film heritage. As a national archive, CSA takes care of national registers on archival material, plans and improves archival activities, co-ordinates the professional work of archives and performs an information documentation service about archival records on a national level.

CSA has strong international cooperation and a number of bilateral agreements with national archives and archival administration services of many European countries.
