Czech Commission for UNESCO

The Czech Commission for UNESCO – Česká komise pro UNESCO was established in 1994 as a government advisory body. The Czech Commission for UNESCO helps in developing cooperation between the Czech Republic and UNESCO in all priority areas, monitors UNESCO activity and analyses its documents, submits proposals and recommendations to the competent ministries and organisations, assumes moral patronage of non-profit projects linked to UNESCO. The Members of the Czech Commission for UNESCO are drawn from the relevant ministries, important institutions and organisations and prominent personalities of the Czech society.

The work of the Czech Commission for UNESCO between plenary sessions is governed by the Executive Committee which is made up of representatives of ministries and the Chairmen of subcommittees. The Commission sets up three specialised subcommittees: the subcommittee for culture and communication; the subcommittee for the environment; the subcommittee for education, science and information.
