Faculty of Performing Arts, Jakarta Institute of Arts

The Faculty of Performing Arts of the Jakarta Institute of Arts (IKJ) was founded in 1976 by Suharto as an educational centre for the local artists of Jakarta. It consists of three faculties, namely the Faculty of Visual Arts, the Faculty of Performing Arts and the Faculty of Film and Television, the latter being the most popular. These three faculties offer 26 different study programmes for an average of 1,000 students per year.
