Fanglao Blackbox

Fanglao Blackbox is the first collective experimenting, creating and transmitting dance at the crossroads of traditional and contemporary culture in Lao PDR.

Fanglao Black Box is a space for artists residencies, creation, and diffusion of Lao traditional and contemporary arts forms. Since 2015, Fanglao Black Box is the space for regular trainings, workshops, and performances. It is also a place to showcase and exchange dance practices through the organisation of cultural events, festivals, projects and tours in Lao PDR and abroad. Fanglao Blackbox is managed by Fanglao, a Vientiane-based dance company, founded in 2013 by the dancers Noutnapha SOYDALA (President) and Ounla PHAOUDOM (director) with the aim to develop artistic and choreographic practices in Laos.
