Geneva Book and Press Fair

The Geneva Book and Press Fair is by its size the 2nd French-speaking fair worldwide and the biggest in Switzerland.

Taking place each year Palexpo welcomes around 100,000 visitors, 820 publishers, over 1,000 speakers, over 800 authors (of which 300 are invited by the management of the Fair), 15,000 pupils from public and private schools from Geneva and Vaud.

The Geneva Fair is deeply in the line with at once the French-speaking universe and the tradition of universality of the town which saw it being born. In 2004, within the fair an African book and culture fair was created. In 2014 it was a stage for Arabic cultures and in 2015 it was the first conferences about francophone publishing.

The Geneva Fair was created in 1986 by the publisher Pierre-Marcel Favre who gave it to Palexpo SA in 2007.
