The German Film School For Digital Production Gmbh

The German Film School was founded in November 1998 as Germany's first private film university. It belongs to the new generation of universities, where not only research and lectures are found on the teaching plan, but practical training as well. All courses are offered both in German and English (German around 80%, and English around 20%).

Within the program, "DIGITAL ARTIS", students can acquire in a maximum three year program, the important fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on know-how, from classical animation, to 3D animation, digital compositing, as well as the generation of virtual worlds – for the currently unique and regularly updated career profile of the “Digital Artist”.

With its compact and practically oriented program “Certified Digital Artist”, the film University of Elstal lies directly within the trend of work-oriented training and has been recognized at the European Union level. In April 2001, the German Film School was recognized by CARTOON – the European society for animated film production- as a professional training center for animation and included in the network of E.T.N.A. (European Training Network for Animation).
