International Jazz Fest Vietiane

International Jazz Fest Vientiane is a 2-day jazz event in Vientiane, Lao PDR, with local and international artists.

International Jazz Fest Vientiane is held as part of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation's (UNESCO) officially designated International Jazz Day on 30 April. The day highlights jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe.

The festival has evolved from a small event at a local restaurant to a major event in Southeast Asia and draws thousands of Jazz lovers and musicians from around the world. Throughout the process they have involved more Lao musicians, giving workshops to local and foreign artists. They have also introduced the khaen instrument, listed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, into the Festival to highlight traditional Lao music.
