Jorge Álvares Foundation

The Jorge Álvares Foundation, founded in 1999, aims to engage in activities of a cultural, scientific, artistic and social nature; such activities are to be carried out, namely, within the framework of an inter-cultural dialogue, bearing in mind the specificity of Macao that results from a century-long Portuguese presence in that territory.

The Foundation promotes supportive actions to institutions established in Portugal that show dedication to the study and promotion of Macao. The Foundation aims to support the promotion of activities and initiatives linked to the diaspora of the people of Macau, fomenting a greater knowlwedge of Macao, its reality and future projection.
