Karachi Biennale

The Karachi Biennale is a visionary platform and acts as an incubator of ideas that brings together innovation, excellence and criticality. The mandate of the Karachi Biennale is to connect art, the city and its people with exhibitions at venues all over the city.

Through a multiplicity of curatorial strategies, the Biennale aims to showcase artists from Pakistan to the world as well as to exhibit the work of artists from the region and the rest of the world. The Biennale showcases art in multi-tiered exhibition programmes with curated shows at different venues around the city.

The Karachi Biennale Trust (KBT) was founded, in 2016, by a group of art professionals and educators as a platform to promote creativity, innovation and criticality in the visual arts. KBT is a registered Trust and operates as a non-profit organisation. KBT works closely with a network of philanthropists and local and international cultural, and educational organisations. It is generously supported by the corporate sector. The Karachi Biennale is KBT’s core project that connects art, the city and its people, and acts like a temporary museum showcasing leading artists in Karachi.
