A Kasteyev State Museum of Arts

The A. Kasteyev State Art Museum of Kazakhstan, founded in 1935, is the largest art museum and the country's leading research and cultural and educational centre in the field of fine arts. Museum’s collection consists of decorative and applied art of Kazakhstan; fine arts of Kazakhstan; Russian art; Western European art; art of the Orient; foreign art of 20th century.

One of the main objectives of the museum is to promote and popularize the museum treasures, attracting a larger number of spectators, to a greater extent the needs of the population to become familiar with the phenomena of the world especially popular artistic life.
