Kazakhfilm Shaken Aimanov Kazakh Film Studio

Kazakhfilm is a Kazakhstan film company under the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic and Kazakhstan. 

The Alma-Ata Newsreel Studio was established in 1934, and in 1941, during the WWII, the studio was merged with the Mosfilm and Lenfilm studios evacuated to Kazakhstan to create the Central United Film Studio. This studio continued to operate in Alma-Ata till 1944 and produced as many as 80% of the Soviet films made during the war. Kazakhfilm is mainly engaged in the development of screenplays and projects, production and postproduction of dramas, animation and documentary films, and distribution of Kazakh-made films.
