Kino

Kino aims to create awareness of and develop audiences for the short film format through its innovative programming and education work throughout the local community. Within this we strive to work with and to develop programmes of work from culturally diverse ethnic minorities.

In addition, Kino will explore and follow developments in new technologies to identify significant milestones in the digital technological revolution, that is effecting all those working in the creative industries. Kino will support wherever possible, individual artists/film makers and groups working with new technology in moving image culture.

Kino 's work spreads beyond the festival and the North West region and in fact the UK as a whole, with recent projects being completed in Europe, Australia and Malaysia, with forthcoming projects to take place in Brazil, France and New York.

In addition to the festival, Kino co-ordinates a youth education project to produce short films with young people, as part of our outreach programme.
