MEMORY! International Film Heritage Festival

MEMORY! Cinema is a non-profit entity created in 2013, acting on a global scale in the field of cinema. Its main lines of action are the training of filmmakers and the support of independent film projects, access to culture (through the organisation of festivals), the preservation and promotion of film heritage, as an integral part of the memory of a country.

They have the Myanmar Film Fund, a year-round recurring program launched in 2016 to support independent filmmakers in Myanmar. Since 2021, the programme has broadened its scope and it now deals with both feature and short films, fiction and documentary. It now acts at the production, post-production and distribution stages. The project responds to the multiple constraints faced by filmmakers in Myanmar (limited access to dedicated professional training or higher education, poor access to funding, limited access to international film industry professionals etc.). It acts as an incubator for film projects throughout the year, uniquely combining tailored mentoring over time with direct financial support through regular calls for projects.
