Ministry of Culture and Sport, Kazakhstan

Ministry of Culture and Sport is the central executive body of the Republic of Kazakhstan, administrating spheres of culture, political stability, inter-ethnic concord, language development, state symbols, commissioning of social services, archives and documentation, religious activities, physical culture and sports, gambling industry; and within the limits prescribed by law – cross-sector coordination and government regulation.

The Ministry went through the various transformations since independence in 1991.Since that the name has been changing almost every two years into Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education, Culture and Health, Ministry of Culture, Information and Mutual Understanding, Ministry of Culture and Information. In 2014, the President signed  an executive order in order to establish the Ministry of Culture and Sport.
