Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Sweden

The Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities (Östasiatiska Museet) situated  in Skeppsholmen, Sweden, is housed in a renovated Navy supply store dating from the 18th century. It is a public museum founded in 1926 with one of Sweden's great archaeologist, Johan Gunnar Andersson (1874–1960) was its founding director. The contents of the museum was originally organised around Andersson's groundbreaking prehistory discoveries in China during the 1920s. The museum's collection today however includes diverse materials ranging from Asian archaeological objects to classical works of art. The strength of its collections is its Chinese Neolithic and bronze age artefacts. The museum also has a large research library dedicated to Asia, which is open to the public. Collection size: 100,000
