Philharmonie Luxembourg
Philharmonie Luxembourg is the premiere concert venue in Luxembourg designed by Christian de Portzamparc with 3 halls: the Grand Auditorium with maximum capacity of 1500 seats, a "salle music de chambre" (for 300 listeners) and an espace decourverte for new music experiences (with 120 seats). It is the home base of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, created in 1933.
The Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra has been a pillar of excellence in the cultural life of Luxembourg since 1933 when it was created by RadioLuxembourg. Since 1996 it is Luxembourg's National Orchestra. International touring enhances the orchestra's reputation. At the Philharmonie Luxembourg it has its own series and plays children's and family concerts as well. Internationally renowned conductors and soloists are regularly invited by the orchestra for concerts in Luxembourg and abroad.
