Queensland Theatre Company

Queensland Theatre Company is the state’s flagship professional theatre company, established in 1970 by an Act of Parliament. Each year the Company presents an annual main-stage season of plays showcasing an array of theatre artists and offering a dynamic mix of plays from new Australian work to international classics.

The Company is also dedicated to encouraging artistic development across the state through its emerging artists programme, writing programme and regional programme. Particular emphasis is placed on developing, inspiring and exciting young people by giving them opportunities to connect with the professional performing arts community in Queensland.

Queensland Theatre Company (the Company) is a non-profit statutory authority governed by a Board of Directors. The Company is principally supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and the Major Performing Arts Board of the Australia Council.
