Renewed online platform for Compendium of Cultural Policies & Trends
A renewed platform from the Compendium of Cultural Policies & Trends. The new Culturalpolicies.net is online now! An online platform for in-depth information on cultural policies, statistics and trends.
The Compendium of Cultural Policies & Trends is a web-based and permanently updated information and monitoring system of national cultural policies and related development. At the heart of this platform lies the Compendium database, which encompasses 43 cultural policy country profiles. These profiles are mainly drawn up and updated by independent cultural policy experts (i.e. ‘expert authors’), in consultation with respective ministries.
Together with the Compendium’s members and board, our expert authors are part of the Compendium community. This dedicated group of cultural policy experts and Compendium supporters meet once a year during our annual Assembly.
The Compendium database currently consists of 43 European cultural policy profiles, as well as short profiles that have been developed so far. All profiles have the same chapter structure to which filters can be applied in order to search more thoroughly or make comparisons between countries.
The Compendium statistics section is part of a collective effort by the Compendium editors and experts to advance the linkages between policy making and comparative research. The data provided is derived from the country profiles and external sources such as Eurostat and OECD. You will find tables devoted to data on population, cultural markets, cultural employment and cultural funding.
Under Themes you will find all the information the Compendium has gathered around seven cultural policy themes. Whether it’s key developments, topical information within the country profiles, statistical exponents or news items.
The Compendium of Cultural Policies & Trends is an online information and monitoring platform, initiated in 1998. It is the only reliable monitoring system for cultural policies in and outside of Europe.
