Salamanca Arts Centre

Salamanca Arts Centre (SAC) is a vibrant arts community located at Hobart’s Salamanca Place, close to Hobart’s waterfront and a short walk from the city’s central business district. SAC hosts artist studios, galleries, venues, retail outlets, arts organisations and public spaces, housed in the historic sandstone warehouses.

SAC is a not-for-profit Arts Centre formed in 1975 as an incorporated association and established in 1976 in buildings owned by the Government of Tasmania and leased to SAC. SAC’s Strategic Priority is to support the contemporary expression of the arts. SAC connects audiences and artists with the work of resident artists, organisations, venues and exhibition spaces and strategically commissions, produces, presents and tours key arts development projects and programmes.
