Sibiu Jazz Festival Foundation

In the early 70's, in Ploiesti, take place the first three editions of the National Jazz Festival. Starting with 1997, Sibiu Jazz Festival Foundation took over the mission of continuing the tradition of the Festival, which was considered a cornerstone of authentic culture during the communist time.

Over the years, the Festival has launched launched the careers of many national jazz musicians. There are no Romanian jazz musicians that have not been influenced in their evolution, in a way or another, by the Sibiu Jazz Festival. The international participation is part of an opened artistic perception towards various horizons.

In 2005, the Festival was recognised as the most important of its kind in Romania, being the first Romanian member of the most important network of festivals and jazz promoters in Europe: Europe Jazz Network.
