Singapore Drama Educators Association

Singapore Drama Educators Association (SDEA) is Singapore’s only professional body for drama educators, teachers, teaching artists, arts administrators, academics, policymakers and arts advocates who share the vision that drama is a vital element in the development and transformation of every individual in society.

Established in 2002 by drama educators and theatre professionals, this not-for-profit organisation is headed by a committee of passionate volunteers. The committee works to nurture professional development and educate the community at large on the use of drama as a vital and effective tool in education and personal development. SDEA works closely with NAC (National Arts Council), MOE (Ministry of Education), NIE (National Institute of Education), WDA (Singapore Workforce Development Agency) as well as local and international learning institutions and professionals to bring drama education practices in schools and communities to a higher level.
