Studio Tanca

Štúdio tanca dance theatre is long-established professional dance theatre. In the Slovak cultural scene, it has presented various authorial projects, the role of which is to bring contemporary dance and the philosophy of modern dance theatre closer to the audience

Since it was established in 1998, they gave more than 1,400 performances, of which 350 were on guest domestic and foreign stages, and presented their work to more than 120,000 spectators. Since 2010, as the only established entity in Slovakia, it has been operating on its own permanent stage. Reflecting on the current socio-political situation from the period 2014–2017, the Studio Dance Theater also became a civically active subject – as a direct opponent of opinions questioning the need for contemporary art.

The Studio Dance Theater regularly presents productions on several domestic stages and has represented Slovakia at prestigious international festivals in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Egypt, Japan, India, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
