Māori Arts New Zealand

Toi Māori Aotearoa Māori Arts New Zealand is an independent Māori arts organisation that cares for the interests of Māori art and artists at a local, national and international level for the benefit of Māori people.

Since 1996 Toi Māori Aotearoa has focussed on the development of Māori artists, Māori artist collectives and art forms, and initiated many significant events to promote Māori art in New Zealand and internationally. Toi Māori annually produces a wide range of events and activities that include festivals, exhibitions, performances, publications and workshops that relate to a wide spectrum of Māori artforms. Toi Māori also organises international exchanges with other indigenous peoples, including artists from the Pacific, Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia.

Toi Māori continues to advocate for increased support for Māori art from the government to achieve the aspirations of iwi Māori as guaranteed by Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
