Union of Artisans of Kazakhstan

Union of Artisans of Kazakhstan was established in 2012 and is the first association that represents artisans of Kazakhstan. The Union has offices in 7 regions of Kazakhstan and manages a nationwide project “Revival, preservation, support and development of traditional crafts in Kazakhstan" supported by UNESCO and Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Apart from preservation of intangible cultural heritage, the Union aims at popularisation and promotion of handicrafts, improvement of status and standards of living of artisans, assists in professional growth of artisans, development of craft businesses, and improving the quality and broadening the range of craft products. It also provides training and consultations to artisans, and conducts competitions, exhibitions, fairs, and craft festivals.
