Universiti Malaysia Sarawak is the eighth public university in Malaysia, the first university in Sarawak and the first one initiated by the aspirations of Wawasan 2020. The programmes at the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts combine the three aspects of creative arts, technology and management together.


The Bachelor of Applied Arts in Cinematography (Honours) is a 3-year degree. The Cinematography programme is unique because it gives applicable theory and technical training in all aspects of film, digital video and television production. Students are also trained in the various technical aspects of cinematography which includes photography, lighting and camerawork. Students will learn and experience all stages of production including scriptwriting, production design, cinematography, sound, directing dan editing. All throughout their undergraduate years, the students will produce a variety of video, television and documentary projects.
