University of Malaya

University of Malaya has its roots in Singapore with the establishment of King Edward VII College of Medicine in 1905. In 1949 University of Malaya was formed with the amalgamation of King Edward VII College of Medicine and Raffles College in Singapore. University of Malaya Kuala Lumpur was established in 1962.

Its mission is to advance knowledge and learning through quality research and education for the nation and for humanity. It envisions itself to be an internationally renowned institution of higher learning in research, innovation, publication and teaching. The university has faculties in the creative arts as well as arts and social sciences and language and linguistics.
