Uppsala International Short Film Festival

Taking place in the university town of Uppsala at four cinemas located in the city's classic cinema district, the Uppsala International Short Film Festival is a meeting place for audience, industry and media.

More than 250 films are screened each year at the different sections of the festival, which includes International Competition, National Competition, Nordic art films and documentaries, Children´s film, special programmes and retrospectives.

The festival is open to short films of all genres, excluding advertising and propaganda films, with a running time of no more than 60 minutes are accepted for consideration. Eligible screening formats are 35 mm, 16 mm, Beta SP, DV, MiniDV, DVcam.

The many Swedish and international film makers and other professionals that every year attend are offered an extensive programme of activities that give an insight into Swedish film, culture and history. Buyers, distributors and festival representatives have access to a videoteque during the festival. The festival offers film makers many opportunities to meet their audience, and discussions are held both at the screenings and at special director´s talks.
