Call for Papers: Digital Heritage | Spain

Digital Heritage Call for Papers An international event for those working on information technology for heritage, the second edition of the DigitalHeritage conference will be held in Granada, Spain, on 28 September - 2 October 2015. This 'federated' world congress brings together events by several leading international organisations and societies, including a number of thematic seminars and parallel special events from ICOMOS' International Committee on Interpretation and Presentation of Cultural Heritage Sites (ICIP), Space2Place and others, leading to a joint publication. It aims to become the largest international scientific event on digital heritage in history, bringing together hundreds of researchers, educators, scientists, industry professionals and policy makers to debate, discuss and present digital technology applied to the protection, documentation, and understanding of humanity’s shared heritage. The conference will focus on five heritage themes, as explained hereafter:
  • Digitisation and acquisition
  • Computer graphics and interaction
  • Analysis and interpretation, including historic document analysis, digital curation and museology, etc.
  • Theory, methodologies, preservation and standards, including digital libraries, heritage commons, heritage at risk, new economic models for digital heritage, etc.
  • Digital heritage projects and applications, including integrated solutions and best practices in virtual documentation, virtual heritage conservation, virtual museums and exhibitions, etc.
A call for papers is currently open, with deadlines ranging from 29 March to 17 May depending on the type of contribution. Organisers are seeking original, innovative ideas and previously unpublished contributions in theoretical or applied digital heritage areas. The Digital Heritage 2015 conference is organised by the Digital Heritage Foundation, the University of Granada, the Virtual Archaeology Spanish Society and the Virtual Archaeology International Network.
