Ulaanbaatar Media Art Festival | Mongolia

The Arts Council of Mongolia (ACM) will organise the inaugural edition of the Ulaanbaatar International Media Art Festival (UBIMAF) from 9 June to 9 July 2016. The Festival was one of the 3 selected projects of Creative Encounters: Cultural Partnerships between Asia and Europe. The first edition of UBIMAF has been organised around the theme of “Tradition and Modernity” and will address the following question:

Are we ready to face this age of rapid change and re-imagine the future in new and exciting ways or will we fail to embrace change and fall behind, stuck as we are?

Over the following month, the festival will feature works from 18 artists from 9 countries from Asia, Europe, North America and Australia and will consist of a wide range of activities, including exhibitions, artists’ talks, workshops and creative gatherings. The festival is supported by: Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and Arts Network Asia (ANA) through Creative Encounters programme; Goethe-Institut Mongolia, Liaison Office Academy of Media Arts Cologne, AD Compagnie, our official sponsors the U.S Embassy and Xacbank.
