18th Berlinale Co-Production Market - call for co-production projects

The 18th Berlinale Co-Production Market will take place from Saturday to Wednesday, 13-17 February 2021, during the 71st Berlin International Film Festival. Call is open for co-production projects.

Currently, producers from around the world can submit feature projects for the Official Selection (deadline: September 30) and drama series projects for Co-Pro Series (deadline: October 15). Novels for Books at Berlinale can be submitted in October/November.

International producers, financiers, sales agents, distributors, representatives of funding bodies and TV channels looking for projects to participate in, can apply to participate without a project in November/December.

Please find details on the different programmes and applications online.

The selected projects will be announced mid January 2021 and the Catalogue with the selected projects is made available for all registered participants about three weeks prior to the event. Based on the projects' priorities and the meeting requests by interested potential co-producers and financiers, the Berlinale Co-Production Market team then matchmakes and organises ca. 1500 one-on-one meetings.

Check the requirements for feature film projects. There is a lower budget minimum of 750.000 Euros applied for projects from the World Cinema Fund supported regions and countries Latin America, Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and the Caucasus, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. The exception is also valid for projects from Greece, Portugal and Southeast Europe.
