Adelaide Fringe 2014 | artists' registrations open
Adelaide Fringe is calling on performers, visual artists, arts organisations and event producers from all over Australia and from around the world to take part in the biggest arts event in the country.
Staged for 4 weeks from 14 February - 16 March 2014, the Adelaide Fringe is an open access festival in which over 4,000 artists literally take over the city.
Adelaide Fringe Director Greg Clarke said that the beauty of being an open access festival is that musicians, performers, comedians and artists at all stages of their careers can take part in the Adelaide Fringe.
Mr Clarke said, “Adelaide audiences love seeing new work by upcoming artists and for many artists it’s where their careers often start.
“Adelaide Fringe provides a platform for artists to try out new work, develop and hone skills and network with like minded people in the arts industry. It is also great fun and exciting to be a part of.”
To participate all artists have to do is register their event on the Adelaide Fringe website by 9 October 2013.
Artists are able to choose from a diverse range of categories in which to enter their event, including cabaret, comedy, music, theatre, children’s events, film, visual art, dance and circus.
Adelaide Fringe has embarked on a national and international roadshow, providing information sessions for artists and producers planning on participating in 2014. The forums from Sydney to Edinburgh with a stop-off in Seoul will be an opportunity for artists to find out how they can register their show, find a venue and plan their Fringe season.
