Part of a series, Peranakan Month is a photo-story competition that invites the public to send in a great portrait/photo of themselves that reflect the rich Peranakan culture together with their own unique Peranakan background description and their take on why being of Peranakan heritage is important to them.

The winner of this competition will receive 10 tickets to the Peranakan Museum in Singapore that includes an exhibition on the world-renowned Emily of Emerald Hill and a S$200 voucher to the notable True Blue Cuisine Peranakan restaurant that offers scrumptous halal Perranakan dishes such as ayam buah keluak, udang assam and other quintessential Peranakan dishes.

The winner will also be featured in ASIAN Geographic magazine, Asia’s leading geographic magazine with 428,000 readers in 54 countries.

The competition hopes to reach out to Peranakan from Penang, Malacca, Kelantan, Singapore, Phuket, Indonesia and Myanmar. It is also an exciting learning opportunity for non-Peranakans who love this rich legacy.
