The Alpine Fellowship 2021

The Alpine Fellowship 2021 is open for entries - a fellowship for writers, academics, visual artists and playwrights, with prizes awarded for WritingVisual Arts, Academic Writing and Theatre/Playwriting.

All four prizes invite submissions (with no restrictions of nationality) on the theme of the Alpine Fellowship 2021 - Untamed: On Wilderness and Civilization. Awards of cash prizes and invitations to international symposium in Fjällnäs, Sweden.

The deadline for all categories is: 1st April 2021

The Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize 2021 is awarded for the best piece of writing on the theme of the Alpine Fellowship 2021 - Untamed: On Wilderness and Civilization.

The winner receives a £10,000 cash prize and is presented with the award by the poet John Burnside. A £3,000 cash prize will go to the second place, and £2,000 to the third place runner up. The winner and two runners up are invited to attend the Fjällnäs symposium.

The Alpine Fellowship Visual Arts Prize 2021 is awarded for the best visual arts response to the theme of the Alpine Fellowship 2021 - Untamed: On Wilderness and Civilization.

The winner will receive a £2,000 cash prize and a further £1,000 towards the artist’s travel, and the shipping and installation of their work at the symposium in Fjällnäs. All food and accommodation during the symposium is covered by the Alpine Fellowship.

Runners up will be invited to attend the Fjällnäs symposium to exhibit their work, all food and accommodation covered. Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to a total of £500.

The Alpine Fellowship Academic Writing Prize 2021 is awarded for the best piece of academic essay writing on the theme of the Alpine Fellowship 2021 - Untamed: On Wilderness and Civilization.

The winner and two runners up are invited to attend the symposium. Winner receives £3,000 cash prize and is invited to attend the symposium. Runners-up are invited to attend the symposium and offered reimbursement of travel expenses up to £500.

The Alpine Fellowship Theatre Prize 2021 is awarded for the best playwriting response theme of the Alpine Fellowship 2021 - Untamed: On Wilderness and Civilization.

The prize will be £3,000 plus a rehearsed reading at the Fellowship’s annual Symposium to which the winner will be invited to attend. Runners up will be invited to attend the Fjällnäs symposium to exhibit their work, all food and accommodation covered. Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to a total of £500.
