CALLS are open for the 11th Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops in Siem Riep, Cambodia. Asian photographers can apply for the WORKSHOPS programme, while photographers of all nationalities can SUBMIT WORKS for the festival.

1. CALL FOR FESTIVAL SUBMISSIONS


Deadline: 15 June 2015


We invite you to submit your work for selection of the Festival Programme of the 11th Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops, to be held this year from 5th – 12th December 2015 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The longest-running photography event in Southeast Asia, the annual Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops is a free international platform and educational resource for established and emerging photographers. The weeklong event features exhibitions, outdoor projections, professional workshops, and outreach activities.

For our 11th Edition, we continue to have two different submission categories:

  • OPEN THEME: No imposed theme, open to all topics and issues.

  • THE IMPACT PROJECT: The news of today centers around tragedy, catastrophe and war. It can sometimes be difficult to remember that good things are happening too. The Impact Project aims to showcase stories about individuals and groups working to make a positive impact on social or environmental issues.


ELIGIBILITY: 

  • Open to photographers of all ages and nationalities

  • There is no submission fee

2. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR WORKSHOPS

Angkor workshops call

The 11th Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops has opened our Call For Applications to seek participants for our tuition-free professional workshops programme.

The Angkor Photo Workshops is an annual tuition-free professional workshop aimed at nurturing emerging talent from Asia. Each year, 30 participants are selected from across the region to join us in Siem Reap, Cambodia, where they are provided first-hand training and invaluable one-on-one guidance by international professional photographers.

Participants are expected to complete one photo story during the workshops, and will be guided by their tutors through all stages – from conceptualizing and forming story ideas, to improving their photography technique, and the final, important step of picture editing. We believe in diversity and originality, and we want you to develop your own unique photographic style and vision as you hone your visual storytelling skills.

ELIGIBILITY: the workshops are open to photographers of all Asian nationalities, with no age restrictions.

Created in 2005, the annual Angkor Photo Workshops is a free, high-quality,professional photography workshop held in Siem Reap, Cambodia.   Since its inception, more than 200 photographers from all over Asia have participated in the workshops, which is conducted by international professional photographers who volunteer their time.
