ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator: FLY2015 - open call
FLY2015, the ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator will be hosted in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Open call to young, aspiring film talents from across Asia to apply for intensive professional development programme, November 9-22.
FLY2015 seeks to nurture the future leaders of Asian film industry by discovering young, aspiring film talents from the 10 ASEAN countries and Korea, as well as to establish a stable filmmaking infrastructure in the region, which can contribute to future productions of diverse films in Asia. Anyone interested in and passionate about filmmaking is sincerely welcome to apply.

ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator (hereinafter FLY), a filmmaking workshop involving young, aspiring film talents from all over Asia, has turned out dozens of excellent students since its launch in 2012. FLY2015, which will be co-organized by Busan Film Commission (AFCNet Secretariat) and National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), will take place for 2 weeks (November 9th – 22nd) in Johor Bahru, which is located in southern Malaysia and north of Singapore. The hosting region boasts excellent education facilities and various locations including the natural forests, harbor, downtown, governmental offices, etc
The curriculum will include:
- 8-week online pre-production
- Intensive filmmaking workshop & exercise
- Special lecture
- Screenings with instructors, followed by Q&A session
- Small-group mentoring session
- Production of 2 short films
Busan Film Commission (AFCNet Secretariat) and 10 ASEAN organizations (AFCNet members) that are in charge of the recruitment will accept applications starting from June 1, and the deadline is on July 20. After the review, the finalists will be announced on August 20, and they will soon enter the 8-week online pre-production before entering Johor Bahru for FLY2015 in November.
